Yachting Sotogrande

Yachting Sotogrande was created in 2002 by Simon Thompson who is the founder of the company and Principal of the RYA Training Centre. 

Simon started his life on the water as a nipper and has lived and worked on boats for most of his life. He has been working professionally as a Delivery Skipper, Qualified Shipwright and Instructor for over 20 years. His extensive sailing ventures have covered the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, Caribbean, and the Pacific Ocean. 

‘Sotogrande Marina was chosen for our Yachting Centre due to its unique location. It is the most beautiful marina between Portugal and the Balearic islands, it lies on the border of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean as well as Europe and the African Continent . It boasts some of the most spectacular views and its sailing grounds are some of the most varied and exciting in the world.

In order to officially run an RYA Training Centre there are exceptionally high standards we must all adhere to. We pride ourselves in not only reaching those standards but surpassing them at every opportunity.
