Birmingham & Midland Marine Services specialise in training BoatMasters, Helmsmen and other parties working within three metres of the waters edge; - Landlocked in Staffordshire we concentrate on the Inland waterways and open water.
We offer four main types of training;
Maritime & CoastGuard Agency Ancillary Training - Water Safety & Personal Survival, Boat Fire Safety. For the MCA BoatMasters Licence - Passenger Operations (PAX) (12+ Passengers), Workboat, (WB). Towing & Pushing Operations. (TP).
Royal Yachting Association Training - Inland Waters Helmsman Certificate, (IWHC) First Aid, VHF Radio (via our training partners).
Inland Waterways Association - Certificate of Boat Management - Passenger operation with less then 12 passengers.
Royal Life Saving Society - RLSS NWSMP 'National Water Safety Management Programme' - Health & Safety Executive endorsed (therefore a statutory requirement) water safety course for those personnel working or managing groups within three metres of the waters edge. Levels 1 (Self Study & Guided Learning Modules) 2 (Still Water & River Modules) and 3 (In Water Rescue Module).
Birmingham & Midland Marine Services are both 'External CAATS Assessors' and 'Approved Workboat Trainers' (and Approved Contractors) for the Canal and River Trust, Formerly British Waterways. You can be assured of a professional course with qualified and experienced Instructors. We welcome novices looking for a leisure qualification or Professional Boatmen / workmen (and Women of course!) requiring formal licencing for professional development purposes.
Centrally based near Junction 12 of the M6 Motorway and the A5 in Staffordshire our classroom, training centre and vessels are easily accessible from most parts of the UK road and rail network.
