The event is set to return to Southampton from 13 – 22 September 2013, bringing together a range of visitors from seasoned professionals to the aspiring beginner wishing to sample boating for the very first time.

Set on one of Europe’s largest purpose-built marinas with over 2km of pontoons, the Show offers visitors a chance to engage with thousands of boats, brands, products and suppliers. Visitors have the opportunity to explore a variety of exhibitors, see, hear and learn from the experts with unique learning sessions and explore numerous opportunities to get out on the water including:

  • Try-A-Boat, the Show’s signature attraction, sees visitors get on the water for free on a range of power and sail boats
  • Suzuki RIB Experience, feel the wind in your hair and the salt on your face as you jet around Southampton waters with a qualified and experienced instructor
  • Global Challenge Sailing Experience, the 72ft round the world Ocean Race Yacht will take you on a unique adventure right into the heart of the Solent
  • Guest Appearance Boats, climb aboard the high tech Callista, the University of Southampton’s School of Ocean and Earth Science research vessel, get up close to Bessie Ellen, the last wooden coasting ketch in the UK; or satisfy your racing edge by heading on board two of the race-ready Global Ocean Race Yachts
  • Wooden Boat Builders Association, an opportunity to gain top tips from experts in the field of classical wooden boat building skills, still used today
  • Battle of the Classes Pursuit Race; soak up the action with this thrilling showcase of the dinghy sailing classes. Over 50 boats will be competing right in the heart of the Show Marina on Sunday 22 September
  • RYA Active Marina, from berthing and boat handling to man overboard recovery, engine maintenance and radar operation, refresh you boating skills in hands-on boat handling training sessions
