The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is the corner stone of the powerboat scheme and is completed over 2 days.
Although much of the course is conducted on the water, the student is also introduced to charts, basic navigation skills including a basic knowledge of GPS and the effect of wind and tide.
The course is designed to introduce the student to everyday boat handling techniques and the use of safety equipment. Providing the skills and background knowledge needed by a competent powerboat driver, Level 2 is also the basis of the International Certificate of Competence for a powered vessel up to 10 metres.
