RYA Day Skipper

You may board the yacht the night before. All courses start by a short introduction to the yacht and a safety brief.

At this level you can expect lots of manouvering and entering and leaving ports. Probably this is more important than travelling milles on a straight line. Cascais, Lisbon, Expo, Seixal and also a short 20M passage around the cape to Sesimbra are all within reach of a 5 day course.

We usually take a night to sleep on an anchorage as this is importnat expereince. But we usually stop aat a marina and there will be a little time to walk around and find a nice restaurant. Onboard Meals are included though.

Lisbon is know for it's consitent winds (the Portuguese Trades) and our tidal location and busy harbour provide a challhenging ground. We are also able to sail on the open ocean or look for shelter when conditions advise us to find shelter.
